Kasia Dudkiewicz
About Kasia
Kasia Dudkiewicz is a fibre artist based in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, whose sculptural works explore the emotional and sensory power of texture. Her practice emerged as a quiet, intuitive response to personal transformation, a need to slow down, to untangle, and to feel. What began as the simple act of knotting cord soon evolved into a meditative process of meaning-making: a way to give shape to the unseen. That same instinct continues to guide her work today, grounding each piece in presence and touch.
Working almost exclusively with natural fibres such as cotton, wool, and jute, Dudkiewicz creates her pieces entirely by hand, using techniques like knotting, looping, and layering. Her tactile works hold a balance of tension and softness, structure and surrender, expressing emotional contrast through material form. Each sculpture invites closeness, offering both a visual and physical language of connection.
For Dudkiewicz, making is as much about process as it is about outcome. Repetition becomes rhythm, texture becomes language, and fibre becomes a conduit for stillness and reflection. Her studio practice is an exploration of the quiet power of touch and the ways that material and emotion intertwine.
Based in regional Victoria, Dudkiewicz has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Australia. Recent exhibitions include Quadrant Gallery in Melbourne (2025), Threads of Connection to Self as part of Melbourne Design Week (2025), Art of Craft at The Old Auction House, Kyneton (2024), Winter Arts Festival at Country House Woodend (2024), and Perception Shift at The Phee Broadway Theatre, Castlemaine (2023). Her work is held in private collections throughout Australia and Europe and continues to attract the attention of interior designers, collectors, and curators who respond to the calm strength and emotional resonance of her fibre-based forms.
