Remembering Celtic Story & Song: Reconnecting to Roots August 9th
This August, you’re invited to follow that call into a shared afternoon of story, song, and soulful reflection, led by the wonderful Kathryn Farrell, whose deep reverence for myth, music, and memory makes this a very special offering in her Reconnecting to Roots series. We are thrilled to be hosting her pilot workshop, Saturday, August 9, 2025 | 3–6pm @Romulus Folio Gallery at The Gladstone, South Melbourne.
“Do you hear a quiet call within you? A call to remember?” is the question Kathryn asks, inviting us to explore these questions gently together and at our own pace.
At the heart of the gathering is the mythic tale of the Selkie, a creature of sea and skin who moves between worlds. Through Irish Gaelic song, we’ll also call upon the ancient presence of Goddess Brigid, protector of poets, healers, and midwives. Kathryn will guide us through these traditions with care, weaving in moments for personal writing, reflection, and optional sharing.
As Nahuat Pipil Knowledge-Holder Tata Juan Nelson Rojas says:
“We dream the past to remember the future.”
Whether your ancestral ties to Celtic lands are strong, faint, or just beginning to stir, this is a space to sit gently with the threads of belonging. All peoples and all lineages, known or unknown, are warmly welcomed.
The event will be held inside the Romulus Folio Gallery at The Gladstone, surrounded by the evocative artwork of the Embers Exhibition by resident artist Angelina Mirabito, which echoes the themes of memory, place, and inner myth.
Please bring:
