Elastic Heart EXHIBITION

Elastic Heart presents a striking series of sixteen large-scale abstract acrylic paintings (each circa 1.8 m × 0.9 m) executed with a palette knife and layered gesture. 

Inspired by the lyrics of Sia Kate Isobelle Furler’s “Elastic Heart”, the works address the interplay of resilience, vulnerability and renewal. 

Through textured surfaces and rich colour fields, Mirabito translates internal experience, particularly her journey through complex post-traumatic stress, into physical form. 

Each painting was also paired with a short artist video (accessible via barcode) in which Mirabito reflects on her process, material choices, and personal narrative. 

The exhibition extends beyond purely visual impact: it invites viewers to engage with the body of work as both emotional archive and aesthetic event. In presenting such scale, materiality and context, Elastic Heart positions painting as act, witness and transformation.
