Melbourne born, Max Olsen is a contemporary artist.

His practice combines the traditions of ceramics with modern technology, embedding cryptic personal narratives and memories into his vessels in the form of coding scripts. He is interested in exploring the subjective nature of memory, perception, and how recollections shift and distort over time.

Having initially worked under the celebrated Australian artist Ted Secombe, Max has expanded from his early crystalline glaze works, and is continuing to explore new avenues of making.

Max’s work is held in private collections across Australia and Europe.
