Gallery Hours: Wed–Fri 12–7pm | Sat & Sun 2–5pm | or by appointment
Whispers from the Grove invites you to enter a space where time softens and the rhythms of nature speak in quiet murmurs, an invitation to listen beyond sound, with a heart open to the subtle pulse beneath the surface.
Angelina Mirabito’s textured and palette knife paintings arise from this place of stillness and reflection, each mark echoing the raw emotions the essence of the natural world awakens within. The exhibition features, Scott Ross’s video art, an interplay of light, shadow, and movement into an immersive experience. A meditation on presence, memory, and the unseen energies that shape our connection to place.
This exhibition asks us not only to look again, but to feel, to pause and lean into the whispers carried on the wind, the slow breath of leaves, and the stories woven deep within the earth and our own being. Here, the grove offers a language of patience and presence, calling us to return again and arrive within the quiet moments where the meaning of our truth awaits our recognition.
Selected works from workshop participants deepen this shared exploration, revealing personal responses to the grove’s gentle call and the creative energy it inspires.
Opening Night:
Please join us on September 12th for the opening, held in joy with The Gladstone’s monthly social night, an evening of art, connection, and community.
About the Artist
Melbourne-based artist Angelina Mirabito brings a background in Creative Writing (PhD) and a practice shaped by her Italian heritage. Also using unconventional materials and tools—palette knives, sticks, hands, and ladles, she builds layered surfaces that translate internal experiences into vibrant, tactile paintings. Her work explores the intersection of emotion, movement, and materiality, drawing attention to the physical and sensory depth of abstract expression.
The exhibition and all events are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all visitors.
