Art Meets Design at Romulus Folio

Flights of Love is a collaborative project between contemporary interdisciplinary artist Angelina Mirabito, Romulus Folio’s resident artist, and highly respected Australian luxury interior designer and bespoke furniture maker, Mark Alexander.

This project is born from the intersection of fine art and design, exploring how human connection, movement, and emotion can shape, and be shaped by, the spaces we inhabit.

Angelina’s expressive, textured painting practice meets Mark’s inventive design sensibility, producing works that navigate tension and harmony, fragility and strength, intimacy and expansiveness. Each piece functions both individually and as part of a larger narrative, creating a layered journey through form, texture, and colour that mirrors the experience of moving through a home.

The collaboration highlights the dialogue between art and design, turning each installation into a story of shared vision and exploration. Viewers are invited to engage with surfaces, shapes, and atmospheres, experiencing how painting, material, and space converse in a dynamic, immersive environment.

For Romulus Folio, Flights of Love reflects the gallery’s ethos: fostering ambitious, transformative projects that challenge conventional boundaries. It is the beginning of an ongoing collaboration, and an exciting step in the gallery’s journey at the intersection of art and design.
