FUSION Exhibition
FUSION
Art x Design EXHIBITION
Mark Alexander
March 4th - 28th 2026
FUSION explores the intersection of contemporary art and spatial design through the work of luxury interior designer, furniture maker and sculptor Mark Alexander.
At the centre of the exhibition are Alexander’s bespoke sculptural furniture pieces, including an Art Deco and Mid-Century inspired oval dining table and handcrafted solid oak sideboard. Across his practice, architecture, furniture, materials and light are conceived as a unified spatial composition shaped by proportion, geometry and luminosity.
Curated by artist Angelina Mirabito, the exhibition extends this interior language into the gallery environment. Mirabito’s paintings respond to the curvature and structural rhythm of Alexander’s Brisbane Art Deco residence, translating architectural movement into textured painterly form.
Documentation from Flights of Love, a collaborative project between Alexander and Mirabito, is presented within the installation. Sculptural spheres positioned throughout the space echo the brass spheres embedded within Alexander’s furniture designs, reinforcing a shared material language across painting, object and architecture.
Through this dialogue between painting, furniture and spatial form, FUSION reveals how contemporary art and design can operate within the same architectural field.
