ROMULUS EXHIBITION
ROMULUS OPENING EXHIBITION
Angelina Mirabito
April 16th - May 14th 2025
The opening exhibition at Romulus Folio Gallery presented a pivotal body of work by artist-in-residence Angelina Mirabito, uniting key pieces created over the previous three years.
Working primarily with the palette knife, Mirabito’s large-scale paintings are defined by bold movement, vivid colour, and sculptural texture. Across sweeping planes of crimson, magenta, blues and yellows, she captures the physical and emotional intensity of transformation, the energy of change made visible in paint. Each surface records persistence and renewal, where colour and gesture form a language of resilience, emergence, and becoming.
As the inaugural exhibition of Romulus Folio, this presentation established the gallery’s curatorial direction: contemporary art as a space for truth-telling, transformation, and connection.
Romulus: Opening Exhibition marked both a beginning and a reflection, a gathering of formative works tracing Mirabito’s evolution as an artist, the gallery’s founding vision, and the enduring dialogue between art, design, and myth
