A Night to Remember: Launching the Romulus Folio Gallery at The Gladstone
With much heartfelt appreciation to all who helped us celebrate the launch of the Romulus Folio Gallery, Friday May 2nd, our latest creative venture as part of the Artist in Residence program at The Gladstone. This program—made possible through the generous support of The Gladstone/FB Ideas allowed us to activate the vision of an open studio, a vibrant gallery, and a dynamic arts hub, all housed within this incredible space.
From the beginning, our goal has been simple but meaningful: to create a space that welcomes creativity, fosters connection, and celebrates community. We hope that those who couldn’t make it to the celebration get the chance to see our current exhibiton before our upcoming Melbourne Design Week Exhibition starting May 15.
A very special aspect of this journey of events hosted during this residency is the documentary we’re currently creating in collaboration with filmmaker Samuel Galloway, who was behind the camera at the event. Sam also designed the stunning lighting installation on display, and his video art and other works will feature in our upcoming exhibitions.
There are so many people to thank for helping bring this vision to life: A massive thank you to Kate Spencer from FB Ideas: Your unwavering support and belief in the project have been foundational. Thank you for walking this path with us.
The Gladstone team and community: Your warmth, openness, and generosity have created an environment where creativity can truly thrive.
Scott Ross, for building these beautiful gallery walls and helping us navigate the logistics with such tireless dedication.
And of course, heartfelt thanks to my mum and dad, who not only helped with drinks and food but made sure stress levels were managed behind the scenes. Also, a big thank you to Joey for greeting our guests and assisting with registration.
We’re thrilled to share this space with you and hope you’ll continue to return, explore, and engage as the program unfolds.
