Welcoming Crystal Wu to Romulus Folio
We are thrilled to officially welcome Crystal Wu to the Romulus Folio artist profile, now live on our website.
Crystal is an artist whose work we’ve been quietly admiring and following since last year. It’s been a joy to witness the unfolding of her creative journey, and 2025 has already been a huge year for her, most recently with her participation in the Camberwell Art Show and a growing list of exhibitions.
Crystal’s practice brings a luminous sensitivity to painterly abstraction, engaging deeply with one of the most powerful and elusive human emotions: love. Her works dissect and reflect on its many forms, from familial warmth and courageous devotion to the quiet nostalgia of memory and place. She draws on inspirations as diverse as Marc Chagall, Paul Gauguin, and the landscapes she’s encountered as a keen traveller, expressing them in richly textured, colour-saturated canvases that seem to hum with emotional resonance.
Originally from Shanghai, Crystal moved to Melbourne in 2018 after a long career in fashion production. Since then, she has devoted herself to painting, with significant recent milestones including exhibitions at TWHA WHIF in Los Angeles, ANKHART in Paris, and a solo exhibition titled Love: Symphony of Colours at ACAE Gallery here in Melbourne.
We’re excited to see the next chapter of Crystal’s work unfold, and look forward to exploring opportunities to exhibit her beautiful and thoughtful pieces in the near future.
You can explore more of Crystal’s in her Romulus Profile and via her website at crystalwufang.wixsite.com/crystal-wu or follow her journey on Instagram @crystal_wu_art.
