On Friday evening, we opened our doors to celebrate WINTER, a new body of work by Angelina Mirabito, artist-in-residence and founding director of Romulus Folio Gallery.

This August, you’re invited to follow that call into a shared afternoon of story, song, and soulful reflection, led by the wonderful Kathryn Farrell, whose deep reverence for myth, music, and memory makes this a very special offering in her Reconnecting to Roots series.

One of the most quietly powerful moments we’ve experienced at the original Romulus Folio Gallery took place during National Reconciliation Week, when we had the honour of meeting Uncle Les Huddleston.

In the depth of winter, Romulus Folio Gallery presents a new series of abstract works by Angelina Mirabito; a contemplative visual journey through stillness, memory, and transformation.

Over the past three months, Romulus Folio has deeply engaged in transforming an empty shell into a working open studio gallery and dynamic arts hub.

At the end of June, Romulus Folio held the first of our Writing for Wellbeing workshops; a gentle, reflective session themed Tides & Transformations. Set within the quiet warmth of the gallery, this 90-minute gathering invited participants to explore the cycles of change in their lives through creative writing.

Our Art of Emotions workshop on June 28 offered a slower, more spacious return to palette knife painting. Participants, new and returning, were gently guided into stillness before approaching the canvas.

On an early winter afternoon, we gathered at Romulus Folio for ‘Unlock Your Creativity: Emotions on Canvas’ a workshop designed to explore the landscape of feeling through colour, texture, and movement.

Throughout the afternoon of, June 21, the second workshop in the Weaving Three Stories series was an afternoon of grounding, sharing, and connection.

Two Writing Winter Workshops with Angelina Mirabito, PhD

This winter, Romulus Folio invites you to reconnect with your inner voice and embrace the quiet transformations of the season through two gentle, soul-nourishing Writing for Wellbeing Workshops led by artist, writer, and researcher Angelina Mirabito, PhD.

Romulus Folio is proud to present Tides & Transformation, an exhibition by Melbourne-based artist Angelina Mirabito, developed during her residency at The Gladstone in Fishermans Bend. This exhibition delves into themes of repurposing, transformation, and the environment, responding to the unique character and layered history of Fishermans Bend—a landscape shaped by industry, erosion, and renewal.

This past weekend at Romulus, we hosted a monochrome painting workshop — and the results were quietly powerful.

Rooted in emotional awareness and intuitive expression, this session invited participants to choose one colour that resonated with them and work with it in dialogue with white. Through a palette knife and simple guided prompts, we explored how colour carries feeling, how white transforms and softens, and how creative motion can reveal what’s often hard to put into words.

We’re delighted to share that Angelina Mirabito will be exhibiting a selection of works in the official launch of the Creative Asia Art Centre—a new cultural space dedicated to artistic dialogue, creative exchange, and connection across the Asia-Pacific region.

This year’s Melbourne Design Week theme—Design the World You Want—raises a powerful question:
